The Great Lakes Grand Banks Association (also known as GLGBA) consists roughly of a hundred members who own or admire Grand Banks cruising yachts. That doesn't mean however, if you don't own a Grand Banks, you cannot become a member. Non-owners who appreciate timeless quality are also welcome to join. Our association provides a meeting ground for social and technical interaction which results in a true "family" atmosphere among Grand Banks owners and admirers. The GLGBA welcomes anyone who has an interest in boating. We are proud to have a few sail boaters and other motor yachts owners among our membership ranks. We even have members who no longer own boats or are just beginning to look for a boat.
Grand Banks has been building yachts for over 50 years and is recognized as one of the highest quality brands in the "trawler and cruising yacht" category. Each boat is unmistakably a Grand Banks in appearance, but unique in some interior and mechanical features. Our membership of past, present and future owners of these traditional yachts is united by the quality, dependability, and timeless style of these diesel-powered vessels. Our members' boats range from 28 to 53 feet in length. Some of our members are just beginning to look for a Grand Banks, while others have owned them for years.
The club organizes a couple events each year. A cruising rendezvous is usually held in late July or early August rotating between ports in Canada & the United States on the Great Lakes. Our annual meeting with the election of officers and directors takes place at the rendezvous. In the winter and early spring, mini meet and greats are organized in Florida, Illinois, and/or Wisconsin where everyone is invited to attend. In the winter months, we aim for two live information presentations. Topics range from night navigation, boat maintenance, Giving Back winners, to journeys taken by some of our members. We post and store these videos on our website for members to reference back to and/or listen at their convenience. The GLGBA also issues a quarterly newsletter covering a variety of topics. Our website is a never-ending evolving tool we hope our membership can use as a resource. We have hard to find information specifically related to Grand Bank yachts archived on the site.
We are pleased and grateful for the continuous generosity and sponsorship of Grand Banks Yachts in Stewart Fl has provided our Association in the past with these events. They can be contacted by clicking on the adjacent link at https://www.grandbanks.com/ or by calling 833-222-4330.
